carbon talks biomass coverThe future sustainability of Canada’s bioenergy feedstocks was the topic of a December 6, 2012 dialogue hosted by the Trottier Project in partnership with Vancouver-based Carbon Talks. In a low-carbon energy scenario, Canada could need as much as 100 to 200 million dry tonnes of primary biomass feedstock per year, and the dialogue was an important step in understanding the sustainable scale of the resource and the implications for the industries, communities, ecosystems, and economies that depend on or are affected by forestry and agriculture.

Participants received this discussion guide before the dialogue session, and their deliberations are captured in the final report of the December 6 session.
